Project: Quiet Hero

In Bulgaria, the current social system fails to provide adequate support to young people who have lived in state care or are transitioning out of it. Many face a lack of life skills, education, and access to services, resulting in social exclusion, poverty, and homelessness. These challenges are rooted in structural inequalities and a lack of inclusive support systems, while institutional stigma and discrimination further marginalize youth from care.

"Quiet Hero" is a national initiative focused on empowering care-experienced youth by equipping them with leadership and advocacy skills. The project aims to nurture a generation of change leaders and community role models who will challenge injustice, advocate for better services, and inspire others. Through training, mentoring, advocacy, and a national awareness campaign, the initiative fosters inclusion and equity—particularly for Roma families—and builds a more just and supportive society.
